Guhyaloka is elemental, beautiful and far from the world. Bhante began ordaining men there in 1987. Since then, over 700 men have had their effective Going for Refuge witnessed in the Valley. It’s hard to imagine the Order we have today if these Dharmacharis hadn’t done a 3 or 4-month ordination course at Guhyaloka.
Hopefully we will have Guhyaloka and its 15o acres of land for hundreds of years. It could help to transform the lives of thousands and thousands of men. It could be what saves them from much misery. For some, it may be an absolutely crucial place on their journey to Awakening.
In time we may be in a position to purchase surrounding land, especially if people leave legacies in their Wills. So in 100 years from now, we could have solitary huts dotted all over the area. We could be ordaining scores of men there each year. It could also contain a vihara that houses a large monastic community. We don’t know what the future holds but Guhyaloka is ideally placed to support the positive transformation of self and world.
We are asking you to leave a percentage of your estate to Guhyaloka in your Will. This will help us to purchase surrounding lands, as well as maintain existing buildings and possibly buy or build new ones.
Guhyaloka has become a sacred place in our community. Please help us to secure its future so that it can be of benefit for generations to come.
In this short video, Satyadasa, who has written hundreds of Wills for people in the Triratna community, explains and advises on what to do if you want to leave Guhyaloka in your Will.
I want to find out more, who can I contact?
You can contact Jyotika or Padmasagara at guhyalokafortheages@gmail.com
You need to include Guhyaloka’s legal name and the following details:
Legal name: The Guhyaloka Trust
UK registered charity number: 803469
Official address:
Adhisthana
Coddington
Ledbury
Herefordshire
HR8 1JL
A form of words to include Guhyaloka in your Will may look like this:
“I leave XX% of the residue of my estate to The Guhyaloka Trust (include legal name, registered charity number, and address) for its general charitable purposes.”
But it’s advised that you use the services of a solicitor or professional Will writer.
It is better to give a percentage of your estate than a fixed amount as this will not be affected by changing inflation rates, and the percentage can turn out to be more than was expected.
Yes. If you want to make major changes then it is advisable to make a new Will, but if the change is small then you can make an official alteration called a Codicil.
